The Humanities and Arts Education Center was established in June 2004 and is a department level teaching unit of North China University of Water Resources and Hydropower, mainly focusing on teaching humanities and arts courses, art management and training for college students, and guidance for cultural and artistic activities for the entire school. The center has Henan Province Famous Teacher Studio, Henan Province Key Base for Humanities and Social Sciences in Higher Education Institutions, the first batch of Henan Province Excellent Teaching and Research Offices, and Zhengzhou City Social Science Base. The art education at North China University of Water Resources and Hydropower began in 1977.
