On February 24, the School of International Education (Ural Institute) convened a student affairs meeting for the new semester in Room 203 of the School building to make unified arrangements for the key tasks and plans of the new semester. Guo Guihai, Party Secretary of the School of International Education, attended the meeting, which was presided over by Wang Shijia, Deputy Party Secretary of the School of International Education.
Guo Guihai emphasized the key student work for this semester. First, he stressed the need to enhance a sense of responsibility and commitment. During the critical period of school integration and handover, all advisors must not slacken in their thinking or work, student affairs staff should remain at their posts, work diligently, and maintain a tenacious spirit in completing tasks, and all staff should actively adhere to their duties to contribute to the high-quality development of the University. Second, he called for safeguarding the bottom line of work and closely monitoring student dynamics. Student affairs staff should firmly maintain correct ideological consciousness, undertake safety responsibilities, ensure the mental and physical health of students, carry out relevant work thoroughly, and remain vigilant at all times. Third, he urged doing a good job with a clear conscience. As a group of teachers whom students rely on and trust, advisors should do more good deeds and practical things for students, and make every effort to provide assistance for students to promote their further growth and development.
Wang Shijia pointed out that as the new year comes with new vigor, the University is now accelerating the creation of a “Double First-Class” institution, and we should continue to adhere to our duties with renewed spirits and quickly get into the working state in this new development journey of the University. First, we should go deep into classrooms and dormitories to closely monitor new issues among students and promptly grasp new situations. Second, we should guide and help students quickly adjust their state, review and summarize, identify and fill gaps, and create a good academic atmosphere. Third, we should formulate work plans for the new semester, focus on key tasks, especially the investigation of employment intentions of graduating classes. Finally, through these measures, we should provide targeted support to students with employment difficulties, effectively improving their employment quality.
All full-time and part-time advisors from different grades attended the meeting and made reports on their respective work.
