School of International Education (Ural Institute) Holds Cooperation Talks with PowerChina International Group Ltd. and Others

On the afternoon of March 8, the School of International Education (Ural Institute) held an online meeting with PowerChina International Group Ltd. (“PowerChina”) and Yellow River Co., Ltd. to discuss potential cooperation. Participants included Guo Guihai, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of International Education (Ural Institute); Li Shengji, Dean of the School; Wang Gang, Safety Director of PowerChina; and Gao Xiwang, Deputy Director of the Quality, Safety and Environmental Protection Department of PowerChina, among others.

At the meeting, Dean Li Shengji expressed gratitude to PowerChina and Yellow River Co., Ltd. for their long-term concern and support for the University. He introduced the latest progress in the university’s “double world-class” project, emphasizing that the University attaches great importance to international education. Li noted that the University will seize new opportunities in international cooperation during the “double first-class” project development process to further improve its talent cultivation system and strategic layout. Drawing on its extensive experience in running overseas institutions such as the Confucius Institute and Hua Yu Institute, the University hopes to strengthen cooperation with water resources and hydropower enterprises to cultivate more localized technical and management talent for companies operating globally.

Wang Gang expressed his appreciation for the University’s long-standing support in talent cultivation for PowerChina. He commended the preliminary cooperation plan on the establishment of Hua Yu Institute between the University and Yellow River Co., Ltd., stating that PowerChina will fully support the cooperation between the parties. He expressed hope that both sides would refine the implementation plan, regularly report progress, and leverage the establishment of Hua Yu Institute to enhance the overseas image of Chinese central enterprises, promote the economic and social development of partner countries, strengthen people-to-people connectivity, and advance the Belt and Road Initiative as well as the building of a closer community with a shared future for mankind.

Representatives from Yellow River Co., Ltd. briefly introduced the company’s operations and overseas projects. They expressed the hope of establishing multi-level and multi-channel exchanges and cooperation with the University in overseas skills training and talent cultivation, to jointly cultivate professional talents, achieve mutual growth, and realize win-win development.

Building on earlier preparatory work, the three parties held in-depth discussions on jointly launching overseas education programs and reached a consensus. It was agreed that Yellow River Co., Ltd. will take the lead in further refining the implementation plan and continuously advancing the project toward early realization.
