In order to effectively enhance campus safety management during the winter vacation, safeguard the life and property safety of international students, and show concern for their living conditions, on January 10, Party Secretary Guo Guihai and Dean Li Shengji of the School of International Education (Ural Institute), led a team to the international student dormitories to conduct a comprehensive fire safety inspection and extend care to international students who stayed on campus during the winter vacation. Colleagues from relevant departments of the School also participated in this activity.

During the inspection, the leaders carefully checked the fire safety of the dormitories, especially the configuration and operation conditions of fire-fighting facilities inside the dormitories, and carefully examined the safety conditions of fire extinguishers, evacuation signs, and electrical wiring. Guo Guihai emphasized that fire safety is no trivial matter, and we must be prepared for potential dangers and ensure that the fire-fighting facilities in the international student dormitories are complete and used in accordance with regulations. At the same time, he also urged the dormitory management staff to strengthen safety inspections and eliminate hidden dangers in a timely manner. Deputy Party Secretary Wang Shijia particularly reminded the international students staying on campus to strictly abide by NCWU’s dormitory safety management regulations, use electrical appliances reasonably, avoid connecting power cables without permission, actively learn fire safety knowledge, and enhance self-protection awareness.

After the inspection, the leaders had a cordial exchange with the international students and learned in detail about their studies, life, and winter vacation plans. Dean Li Shengji encouraged international students to live comfortably on campus, and if they encounter any difficulties, they can seek help from the School or relevant departments at any time. He also extended his New Year's greetings to students, wishing them to maintain good health, stay safe, and achieve academic progress in the new year.

Through this inspection and visit, the School not only extended warm care to the international students staying on campus but also effectively promoted the implementation of fire safety work and ensured the safety and stability of the dormitories during the winter vacation. In the future, the School of International Education will continue to adhere to the people-oriented concept and provide a safer and more comfortable learning and living environment for international students. Lastly, international students expressed their gratitude to the School and leaders for their concern and care, and promised to strictly abide by NCWU’s regulations and disciplines, actively adapt to campus life, and spend a safe and fulfilling winter vacation.
