I. About NCWU
NCWU is a university jointly supported by the Ministry of Water Resources and Henan Province, with Henan Province as the main management institution. It is a key university supported by the distinctive backbone university construction program of Henan Province. It is among the first institutions to confer master's degrees, one of the pioneer universities with the qualification to enrol overseas students, one of the universities for Outstanding Engineer Education Program by the Ministry of Education, and the leading institution of Chinese universities determined by the Ministry of Education in the BRICS Network University. It has been recognized successively as a National Water Education Base, a Model University for Party Building Work and a member unit serving as a Talent Training Base for "the Belt and Road."
Born of water, sustained by water, and prospering with water, NCWU has grown alongside the development of water resources and hydropower in the People's Republic of China for over 70 years. Evolving into a university renowned for water conservancy and electric power, with engineering as its cornerstone, NCWU boasts a coordinated development across various disciplines, including science, engineering, management, agriculture, economics, literature, law, and art. The university offers 68 full-time undergraduate majors, including 10 nationally and provincially recognized excellent programs (bases), 15 majors involved in national and provincial comprehensive reform pilot programs, 17 featured major construction sites at the national and provincial levels, 45 national and provincial first-class major construction sites, and 135 national and provincial courses. NCWU is home to 22 provincial first-class key disciplines, 3 distinctive key disciplines in Henan Province, and 1 distinctive urgently needed key discipline in Henan Province, with Water Resources and Hydropower Engineering being selected as a "Double First-class" construction discipline. Furthermore, the university has 4 doctoral degree-granting first-level disciplines, 3 postdoctoral scientific research mobile stations, and 38 master's degree-granting first-level disciplines and fields.
To advance the construction of high-level water resources and electric power university and the creation of "Double First-Class" disciplines, NCWU is now recruiting postdoctoral fellows from around the world. We sincerely welcome outstanding postdoctoral fellows to engage in postdoctoral research at the North China University of Water Resources and Electric Power.
