International Student Education Base of the School of International Education is Inaugurated and Established

As reported by China Youth Network, on August 4, the Inauguration Ceremony of the Henan Provincial National Conditions Education Base--the "International Student Education Base of the School of International Education, North China University of Water Resources and Electric Power (NCWU)" approved upon application by NCWU--was held at Henan Geology and Mineral Construction Engineering (Group) Co., Ltd. Responsible persons from the International Office and the School of International Education of NCWU, and key leaders of Henan Geology and Mineral Construction Engineering (Group) Co., Ltd. attended the Inauguration Ceremony. Wei Xinqiang and Kang Wenxian jointly inaugurated the base.

At the ceremony, Wei Xinqiang, Director of the International Office of NCWU, delivered a speech. He stated that the inauguration of the base was not only an important milestone in the development of NCWU's international education cause but also a vivid practice for Henan Province to deepen cultural and educational exchanges between China and foreign countries and actively serve national strategies. Through observing Chinese engineering, learning Chinese technologies, and understanding Chinese culture, international students would promote the in-depth integration of "theories and practice" as well as "professional education and national conditions education", fully grasp the "logic of practice" and the "inner core of values" in terms of China's development, and enhance their "understanding, friendship, and affection for China".

Kang Wenxian, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of Henan Geology and Mineral Construction Engineering (Group) Co., Ltd., noted that the enterprise would give full play to its resource advantages in the major engineering construction, ecological governance, and other fields, providing vivid "practical teaching materials" and high-quality practice platforms for the base. This would help international students truly experience China's technological innovation vitality and corporate social responsibility through on-the-spot investigations and case studies.

It is understood that the establishment of the base marks a significant breakthrough for NCWU in deepening internationalized school-running and the integration between industry and education. Guided by the philosophy of "serving professional growth, conveying value recognition, telling Chinese stories well, and promoting cultural integration", NCWU will take the base as an important carrier, focus on the core work of cultivating international students, and promote them to move from "classroom theories" to "practice sites" and from "textbook learning" to "immersive experience". NCWU will strive to cultivate more young talents who possess solid professional qualifications, broad international perspectives, and a deep understanding, friendship, and affection for China, contributing NCWU's strength to cultural exchanges and mutual learning among civilizations between China and foreign countries.

According to the introduction, the International Student Education Base of the School of International Education, North China University of Water Resources and Electric Power, is a provincial-level project initiated by NCWU and co-constructed by NCWU and Henan Geology and Mineral Construction Engineering (Group) Co., Ltd., with Li Shengji, Dean of the School of International Education, as the person in charge. Focusing on three core characteristic projects--national conditions education on China's engineering construction of water resources and electric power, ecological environment governance and protection, and corporate culture and professional ethics, the base will carry out on-the-spot investigations, voluntary services, lectures delivered by experts, and other activities by integrating enterprise resources with NCWU's professional advantages. In terms of the construction plan, NCWU will focus on deepening the curriculum system innovation by transforming enterprise cases into teaching resources; strengthen the construction of teaching staff by establishing a "dual-teacher system" coaching team (on-campus teachers + enterprise experts); and expand the international cooperation network by jointly holding academic forums, student exchange programs, etc., with international universities and research institutions.
