Program Overview
Sino-Foreign Youths' Exchange Program on Green Development presents an array of distinctive “Chinese+Water Resources” activities that offer participants a profound understanding of the rich heritage of the Central Plains and the Yellow River cultures. Through specialized courses on “Chinese+Water Resources and Hydropower” and immersive site visits, complemented by interactive martial arts workshops, the program provides a comprehensive learning experience. It caters not only to the aspirations of international students to acquire proficiency in the Chinese language and engage with traditional culture but also to the opportunity to explore the strengths of the water resources and energy programs at NCWU. Furthermore, the program enhances cross-cultural learning and mutual understanding between Chinese and international students. NCWU welcomes outstanding young people from partner schools or institutes to sign up for this program.
Admission Targets
20 American adolescent students. For students under the age of 18, a written consent from their guardians must be provided.
Courses and Activities
The courses of this program are divided into centralized training courses, immersive site visits and cultural tours. Among them, the centralized training courses include expert lectures, specialized courses on water resources and hydropower, e.g. “Fundamentals of Water Resources” and “Prominent Chinese Figures in Water Management”, Chinese language courses and others courses. The site visit activities include tours to Zhengzhou, Xinxiang, Luoyang, Dengfeng and Jiaozuo, visiting places such as the South-to-North Water Diversion Project’s Yellow River Crossing, the Yellow River Cultural Park, the Yellow River Museum, and the Baoquan Pumped Storage Power Station”and etc. The cultural tours encompass visits to Songshan Mountain, Shaolin Temple, Songyang Academy and etc.

June 24th -30th , 2024
Fee
1. International students participating in the program will be responsible for their own round-trip airfare and other travel expenses to and from Zhengzhou.
2. NCWU will bear the cost of courses, transportation and accommodation for the international student participants during their stay in Zhengzhou.
3. NCWU is not responsible for any expenses incurred by leaders or teachers assigned by partner schools or organizations to accompany students to and in China.
