语言实验中心于1990年由学校投资建设，是实行学校和外国语学院两级管理的语言类综合性实验室。

设备总投入960万元, 使用面积2500 平方米， 拥有数字型和网络型语音室22套, 座位1600个，其中花园校区6套，龙子湖校区16套。现已建成一套高质量、高性能、高水平的同声传译室，可进行交替传译和同声传译等语言教学实践及举办小型会议等活动；还建有一套集教学、实训、项目管理于一体的机辅翻译实验室，用于MTI和本科翻译教学实践。

语言实验中心每年面向全校 60多个专业25000 余名本科生、硕士生、博士生开设各种语言实验实训课程，综合实验课开出率100%。

目前，语言实验中心已从以往单纯开展大学外语教学、实训、竞赛、水平测试的平台拓展为“为学校拔尖本科生提供特色外语实训；为硕士生、博士生提供外语论文写作实训；为外国留学生提供汉语学习实训；为学校教师提供双语教学、出国进修、企业培训等实验实训”的综合性基地。

语言实验中心现有工作人员6名,其中主任1人，专职管理员5人，主要负责教学设备的管理和日常维护。中心制度完善，包括语言实验中心使用与管理规定、语言实验中心管理人员守则、语言实验中心学生守则、仪器设备事故处理及损坏赔偿规则等，确保语言实验中心设备的正常使用。

 2010年，语言实验中心被评为校级先进实验室；2015年成为校级实验教学示范中心。

A Brief on the Language Laboratory Center

   The Language Laboratory Center founded by the University in 1990 is a comprehensive linguistic laboratory

administered by both the School of Foreign Studies and the University.

The Center, with its total asset amounting to 9.6 million yuan, covers an area of 2,500 m2, consisting of 22

digital and web language laboratories, 6 in the base campus, 16 in the new campus, and 1,600 seats. Its simultaneous

interpretation laboratory, advanced and sophisticated, is ideal for simultaneous and consecutive interpretation

training and other language practices including small meetings. It also has a CAT (Computer Aided Translation)

Laboratory for the training of MTI (Master of Translation and Interpretation) students and undergraduates.

      The Center is the full functioning base for practical linguistic training of the 25,000 undergraduates, master and

doctoral students of the University spanning more than 60 majors.

      Years of progress have witnessed the multiplication of the roles of the Center from a simple college English

teaching and testing oriented platform into a comprehensive base offering multifarious solutions including

customized foreign language training for top students, paper writing training in foreign language for master and

doctoral candidates, Chinese training for overseas students, bilingual training for the teaching staff, foreign

language training for potential oversea students, business staff and others.

      Presently, the Center has a staff of 6 members: 1 chief and 5 full time administrators responsible for the running

and maintenance of the facilities. An elaborate system of rules, including those on equipment usage, staff administration,

student regulation, accident prevention, damage claim and others, has been well established to ensure the

efficient operation of the Center.

      The Center was laureled as the Outstanding Laboratory of the University in 2010 and the Model Laboratory for

Practical Teaching in 2015.
