Notice on the Promotional Short Video Contest for International Students Admission

To all NCWU international students:

To further expand the admission channels for international students in our university, fully showcase the charm of the school, and enrich students' extracurricular lives, we are organizing a short video contest themed "Reflection of NCWU: Unique Beauty Through the Eyes of International Students." The details of the event are as follows:


I. Theme of the Event

"Reflection of NCWU: Unique Beauty Through the Eyes of International Students"


II. Event Duration

November 28, 2024 – December 15, 2024


III. Eligible Participants

All NCWU international students.


IV. How to Participate

1. Registration Method

Students may participate individually or in teams (maximum of 3 members per team). By December 8, 2024, participants must submit their basic information (including name, nationality, major, contact details, etc.) and their short video entry to the designated email address iso@ncwu.edu.cn. The email subject should be titled "International Student Short Video Contest (Participant Name or Team Name)."

2. Submission Requirements

· Duration: The video can take various forms such as a documentary, vlog, or creative animation. It should be between 3 to 5 minutes long and may use any language, but must include subtitles in both Chinese and your native language.

· Format: Videos must be submitted in MP4 format with a resolution of at least 1080p.

· Originality: All entries must be original, unpublished in other similar competitions, and must not plagiarize or copy others' work.


V. Content of the Event

The short videos should align with the theme and can include the following:

1. Introduction to the University: Covering aspects such as history, educational philosophy, academic strengths, and faculty resources.

2. Sharing of Learning Experiences: Discussing academic achievements, challenges, and overcoming obstacles.

3. Campus Life Reflections: Highlighting the beautiful campus environment, club activities, and cultural exchange events.

4. Showcasing Student Interactions: Presenting cross-cultural friendships and exchanges among students.

5. University Policies and Benefits: Including scholarships, accommodation, medical insurance, etc.


VI. Evaluation Methods and Criteria

1. Evaluation Methods

The evaluation will be conducted by a judging panel composed of relevant leaders from the School of International Education.

2. Evaluation Criteria

· Relevance to Theme (20 points): Closely aligned with the event theme, showcasing campus features and charm.

· Content Innovation (20 points): Unique perspectives, novel expressions, or creative presentation.

· Impact (40 points): Scored based on metrics such as likes, comments, and shares on mainstream social media platforms. Screenshots of the metrics must be submitted during participation.

· Artistic Presentation (20 points): Proper filming techniques, editing skills, composition, and music selection.


VII. Awards

1. First Prize (2 winners):
"Elegant Bian Embroidery" for teams, or "Silk Scarf" for individuals.

2. Second Prize (5 winners):
Exquisite Fan.

3. Third Prize (8 winners):
Premium Stationery Set.

4. Excellence Award (Several winners):
Notebook.


VIII. Notes

1. Submission of an entry constitutes agreement to and compliance with the above rules.

2. The School of International Education reserves the right to use all submitted videos for related activities.
