School of International Education Hosts the 2025 International Chinese Language Teacher Training

To optimize the teaching quality of international Chinese education and facilitate the cultivation of international talents at NCWU, the International Chinese Language Teacher Training, co-hosted by the School of International Education of NCWU and that of Zhengzhou University, was held in Conference Room 3 of the Garden Campus from September 6 to September 7. All Chinese language teachers for international students participated in the training.

Li Shengji, Dean of the School of International Education, extended a welcome to the participating teachers and teaching experts. He elaborated on the preparation background, core objectives, and content framework of this joint training, emphasizing that it was a crucial initiative to improve the teaching standards of international student education. The training aimed to build an inter-university exchange and experience-sharing platform, promote the professional development and teaching competence of teachers, and lay a solid foundation for NCWU's internationalized school-running.


In the training session, Professor Wu Zhongwei from Fudan University and Professor Han Yuguo from the School of International Education, Beijing Language and Culture University, delivered special lectures respectively. Focusing on two themes about the "Fundamental Issues in Second Language Teaching and Diversified Teaching Approaches" and "Generalization and Specialization in International Student Education", Professor Wu Zhongwei vividly explained methods to balance cultural transmission and students' cognitive rules in language teaching through interactive discussions and rich teaching cases. This helped participating teachers master targeted teaching strategies to effectively solve daily teaching challenges. Professor Han Yuguo, meanwhile, centered on "Teaching Methods and Case Analysis in International Chinese Education" and "Design and Practice of Classroom Teaching Activities in International Chinese Education." He highlighted modular curriculum design ideas and application skills of diversified teaching evaluation tools, and proposed specific implementation plans for hierarchical teaching and personalized guidance tailored to the differences in international students' language proficiency, providing a clear path for participating teachers to optimize teaching plans and enhance classroom effectiveness.

This joint training has consolidated consensus and clarified directions for the international Chinese education work of both universities. Taking this training as an opportunity, the School of International Education will continue to deepen inter-university cooperation, regularly carry out high-quality training activities, promote the teaching quality of international Chinese education to a new level, and provide stronger support for NCWU's international development and cross-cultural talent cultivation.
