On the morning of June 26, the opening ceremony of NCWU’s “Encounter the Yellow River, Appreciate the Central Plain Culture” Chinese Bridge Summer Camp in 2025 was held in the 4th meeting room of the Longzihu Campus. Vice President Li Yanbin attended this ceremony and delivered a speech, with 20 teachers and students from Malaysia and Thailand, as well as the teacher and student representatives from NCWU in attendance. This ceremony was presided over by Li Shengji, Dean of the School of International Education.
Li Yanpin expressed a warm welcome to the teachers and students of the summer camp, and briefly introduced the characteristics of Henan Province and the development achievements of NCWU. He noted that as the first offline Chinese Bridge Summer Camp hosted by NCWU, this camp was themed on “Encounter the Yellow River, Appreciate the Central Plain Culture” and structured around four modules: Chinese language learning, culture experience, thematic visit and youth exchange, and strove to let the camp participants deeply understand the spiritual connotation of Chinese Culture and feel the development of modern China though various programs and activities with NCWU’s features. He hoped that the camp participants could cherish this opportunity for learning and communication, carefully learn the Chinese language and culture, deepen their understanding of Chinese culture, share what they had seen and heard with their family and friends, and become the cultural ambassadors who understand and cherish China.
In a video speech, Tang Jing, Education Secretary of the Chinese Embassy in Malaysia, stated that, as another iconic Chinese-Malaysian youth exchange program, this summer camp provided Malaysian youth with a valuable opportunity to experience the profound cultures of the Central Plain and the Yellow River. Through the careful arrangement by NCWU, this camp must build a unique platform for people-to-people exchange and strongly foster the connection between Chinese and Malaysian youth.
Huang Shengxin, Malaysian Dean of Confucius Institute at University of Technology Sarawak, acting as the leading teacher, expressed his appreciation to the thoughtful arrangement by NCWU in his address. He stated that by studying Chinese at the Confucius Institute, the students understood China and knew Henan, facilitating the journey to Zhengzhou during this camp. The camp participants are all looking forward to this event, and it is believed that they will acquire knowledge, expand their insights, and make friends through this event.
The teacher representatives from the NCWU Department of Physical Education and the University of Technology Sarawak, and the student representatives from the summer camp, engaged in exchanges and delivered speeches.
During the opening ceremony, Chinese and international students from the School of International Education (Ural Institute) jointly performed a poetry recitation Prelude To Water Melody, and the university martial arts team presented a Wushu show. At the end, jointly witnessed by leaders, teachers, and students in attendance, Li Yanbin presented the summer camp flag to Huang Shengxin.

The opening ceremony was attended by the heads of related departments, including the International Office, Youth League Committee, School of Foreign Studies, School of International Education (Ural Institute), Humanities and Arts Education Center, and Department of Physical Education.
