On September 15, 2025, ten students from the University participated in the 3rd Contest of Dam Safety Science Popularization for BRI Countries held in Nanjing. The event was jointly organized by Nanjing Hydraulic Research Institute of the Ministry of Water Resources, Ministry of Transport and National Energy Administration, the Chinese Hydraulic Engineering Society, the Lancang-Mekong Water Resources Cooperation Center, and the International Association for Hydro-Environment Engineering and Research, and co-organized by the Dam Safety Management Center of the Ministry of Water Resources, the International Joint Research Center for Water Science and Engineering, the International Economic & Technical Cooperation and Exchange Center, Ministry of Water Resources, Hohai University, North China University of Water Resources and Electric Power, and the China-ASEAN Dam Safety Capacity Building Center. In the competition, Imane Cheraitia, an Algerian Master’s student enrolled in 2023 in the Business Administration program at the Institute, won the Third Prize, and Faruk Md Umar, a Bangladeshi undergraduate student enrolled in 2023 in the Civil Engineering program, won the Second Prize.
