In order to further promote the creation of the first-class discipline of hydraulic engineering in the University,PresidentLiu Junguo recently led a team to visit School of Civil Engineering, Tsinghua University, and launched a symposium for exchange with Fu Xudong, the Secretary of the Party Committee of School of Civil Engineering, Tsinghua University, and Li Kefei, the Vice President of School of Civil Engineering, Tsinghua University.
Liu Junguo expressed his gratitude to School of Civil Engineering, Tsinghua University for its support and help in the development and construction of the hydraulic engineering discipline of the University, and briefly introduced the current development of theUniversity. He pointed out that in recent years, based on disciplines, with team building as the key, with cultivating top-notch innovative talents, supporting innovation-driven development strategy, and serving the water conservancy industry and Henan’s economic and social development as the guidance, and focusing on serving the national strategy of ecological protection and high-quality development in the Yellow River Basin, the University has made great efforts to promote the creation of the first-class discipline of hydraulic engineering and achieved remarkable results in the construction of disciplines, specialty construction, the formation of scientific research teams, and the integration of industry, teaching and research, etc. He hopesthat both parties will further strengthen exchanges and cooperation to help the creation of the first-class discipline of hydraulic engineering in the University, and jointly promote the development of hydraulic engineering discipline.
Fu Xudong warmly welcomed the visit of Liu Junguo and his team, and highly praised the development achievements of the University. Fu Xudong said that North China University of Water Resources and Electric Power takes the creation of the first-class discipline of hydraulic engineering as the key focus, which is the right choice for the development of the University and its disciplines. School of Civil Engineering, Tsinghua University is willing to strengthen cooperation and make progress together with North China University of Water Resources and Electric Power in the creation of disciplines and scientific research and exploration. Li Kefei introduced the basic information of School of Civil Engineering, Tsinghua University in terms of teaching, scientific research, disciplines, talent training, etc. Participants conducted in-depth exchanges around discipline construction, scientific research, etc., exchanged views and reached consensus on further promoting the creation and strengthening cooperation of the first-class discipline of hydraulic engineering in the University.
The Heads of relevant departments such as President’s Office, the First-class Discipline Creation Office, the School of Civil Engineering, etc. participated in the exchange activity.
