From February 20 to 24th, the "China-US Dialogue on Science and Global Issues" was held in Bellagio, Italy. Professor Liu Junguo, the University President, attended the dialogue upon invitation and engaged in extensive academic exchanges on crucial global issues such as water resources, climate change, food, health, urbanization, and China-US scientific cooperation.

The dialogue aimed to establish a framework mechanism for future China-US scientific cooperation and discuss research topics on global issues. Participating scholars engaged in cross-disciplinary academic exchanges and explored global issues through various formats, including roundtable dialogues, in-depth discussions, free talks, thematic presentations, and summary remarks.

It is reported that 20 Chinese and American scholars attended the dialogue, including 6 Chinese academicians, 7 American academicians, and administrators responsible for international cooperation at the Chinese and American Academies of Sciences. In addition to scholars from the Chinese Academy of Sciences, one academician from Tsinghua University, the University of Hong Kong, and the North China University of Water Resources and Electric Power was invited. Csaba Korosi, President of the 77th United Nations General Assembly, participated as a special guest. Professor Liu Junguo's participation in this exchange is an excellent achievement in our university's adherence to the "four orientations", serving the "great cause of the country", and implementing the top three strategies oftheHenan Provincial Committee's "ten major strategies":the strategy of innovation-driven development, science and education revitalization, and talent-powered province. This participation is significant for enhancing our university's international reputation and influence and promoting the development of a "double first-class" university.
