The School of International Education co-coordinated with the Language Training Center, functioning as a comprehensive educational and administrative organization covering joint education, international cooperation and cultural communication. Kept with the prosperous extending of internationalization and the pace of NCWU, the School has made a rapid development. Established in March, 2005, it has been devoting in joint educational programs and international communication, making great contribution and obvious progress in improving international reputation of NCWU.
At present, students of the School are distributed in four campuses including Longzi Campus of NCWU, Huayuan Campus of NCWU, Foreign Language College of People’s Liberation Army (in Luoyang, Henan Province) and Songshan Shaolin Kongfu Vocational College. In addition, the range of cooperative educational programs and communication has covered more than 40 colleges in the world. Currently, the School has transnational education programs with Swinburne University of Technology in Australia in Accounting and Civil Engineering as junior college level. Besides, the School cooperates with Teesside University in UK on jointly running Bachelor Degree program of Civil Engineering (with Disaster Manangement) and Mechanical Engineering. Meanwhile, the School has joint education programs with Foreign Language College of PLA and Songshan Shaolin Kongfu Vocational College in disciplines of English, Russian, Teaching Chinese as Foreign Language and range in 10 majors including Business English, Scientific English, Engineering English, Teaching Chinese as Foreign Language in English, French, German, Russian, Spanish, Japanese and Korean Speaking Countries. Now the School has over 4,000 full-time students. The flexible operating pattern takes full use of domestic and international resources, forming into a complete educational system and administrative model and making satisfying achievements. The students are feathered by foreign languages, Shaolin martial arts as well as business knowledge and win high admission by the society. Since 2009, over 50 graduates study aboard or start Chinese promotion programs in Thailand, Nepal and so on. In addition, more than 100 graduates choose to further study in domestic universities. The average employment rate is up to 90%.
The staff and faculty of the School now numbers 25, all of them own a master degree and most have studied aboard experiences. Among them, 5 have a doctoral degree and 5 hold a senior professional title.
Co-coordinated with School of International Education, Language Training Center is the base of Henan Testing Office of National Chinese Language Test (ZHC), undertaking the promoting, training and testing of ZHC and also acting as the training organization of English, French, Spanish and other languages, providing tests and training to thousands students each year.
School of International Education (Language Training Center) is one of the fastest developing schools in NCWU and is a sustainable platform for communication and cooperation, Chinese language promotion and cultural exchange, is an important expressway for NCWU to absorb in the advanced educational ideologies from the universities all around the world and is an significant base for developing talents enriched with international horizons.
