School of Software (Software Polytechnic College) in North China University of Water Resources and Electric Power (NCWU) is one of the 20 schools (departments, sections) in NCWU. School of Software was authorized by Education Department in Henan Province and established as a demonstrative software polytechnic college in May 2008. In August 2011, School of Software was formed and coordinated with the Software Polytechnic College to meet the demand of career development in NCWU. School of Software has currently set up 1 undergraduate discipline and 6 junior college disciplines (fields). The school has a total number of nearly 800 current students. Student-centered and employment oriented, School of Software is an important base for developing IT applied talents that are urgently needed in China. 

School of Software actively introduces the quality educational resources in the society, develops various forms of the industry-academy combinations and university-enterprise cooperation. The school keeps exploring at the aspects of the school system, talent training mode, etc. and keeps driving educational and teaching reform. School of Software currently possesses more than 10 basic and specialized laboratories and has built 8 practical training bases on campus. The school is well-equipped with more than 500 computers. The school has established substantial partnerships by means of practical training and joint development with ChinaSoft International, North Soft Education, Beijing Ya Si Sheng Technology, Shanghai Birup, Suzhou science and Technology Park, Sichuan Huadi, Xiamen Wance, BSP Education, Zhengzhou Clear, Role of People, etc. By strengthening the teaching of practice and reinforcing the characteristics of learning, the school has improved students’ abilities and competitiveness. School of Software has built internship bases in companies, such as, Henan Hanwei Electrical Co. Ltd., Henan Great Wall Information Technology Co. Ltd., Zhengzhou Chuangyuan Computer Network Engineering Co. Ltd. , etc. , providing broader and brighter career opportunities for students.
