. Professional settings

The School of Architecture is located in Longzihu Campus, North China University of Water Resources and Electric Power (NCWU).

-In 1995, the major of architecture was set up.

-In 2006, the School of Architecture was established, and seven majors were successively established: Architecture, Urban and Rural Planning, Art Design, Visual Communication, Public Art, Environmental Art Design, Landscape Architecture.

-In 2015, three undergraduate majors: Environmental Art Design, Visual Communication and Public Art were set up from the School of Architecture to establish the School of Art and Design.

The School of Architecture currently has three five-year undergraduate majors: Architecture, Urban and Rural Planning, and Landscape Architecture. There are academic first-class master authorization points in architecture and professional master authorization points in the field of horticulture and seed industry. The school enrolls academic postgraduate students in architecture (research directions include architectural design and theory, architectural technology science, architectural history and theory, ecological city planning and design) . At the same time, the school also enrolls postgraduates majoring in architecture and civil engineering (human settlement environment design), art design (landscape design, environmental design and applied research), agronomy and seed industry (garden and landscape, ornamental gardening). There are more than 800 students in total, including undergraduate and graduate students.

-The undergraduate major architecture has passed the China Higher Education Professional Architecture Education Evaluation.

-Undergraduate students are enrolled in the major category of "architectural major";

-Enrollment of undergraduate students majoring in architecture from the Ural College of NCWU, "BRICS Network University"

-The architecture major is the "Professional Comprehensive Reform Pilot" in Henan Province.

. Teacher situation

The college has 79 faculty members, including: 67 full-time teachers, 14 master tutors, 4 professors, 19 associate professors, 20 doctors, 45 masters, 4 national first-class registered architects, and more than 10 national registered planners. 1 first-level registered constructor. The school has a long history of hired senior designers from outside the school as part-time professors.

Ⅴ. Scientific research results

The school has established an innovative scientific research team on the theory and application of ecological civilization in Henan Province, and a sustainable built environment team in university. It has undertaken several National Natural Science Foundation of China projects and nearly 100 projects of various vertical and horizontal directions at the provincial and ministerial level.

It has won 2 second prizes and 4 third prizes of provincial scientific and technological progress; 3 scientific and technological progress prizes of China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing, and several provincial survey and design prizes.

Nearly 50 faculty’s research achievements have been appraised; more than 400 papers have been published in academic journals at home and abroad, and nearly 50 monographs and textbooks have been published.

The teaching team's "Innovative Research and Practice on the Teaching Mode of the Lower Grade Architectural Design Curriculum in Integrating Ecology-Constructing Theory" won the first prize of provincial teaching achievement, and the "Research on the Renewal of the Training Mode of Architecture Professionals under the Policy of Energy Conservation and Emission Reduction" win the second prize.

Ⅵ. Development Goals

The school will continuously improve the quality of student training, strengthen the discipline construction, vigorously conduct scientific research, and expands channels for international cooperation in running schools. Continuously cultivate the high-quality applied talents with basic theoretical knowledge and design methods of human settlement environment for the social and economic development, have design ability, practical ability, innovative thinking and international vision, and be able to engage in design and planning, teaching and scientific research, professional management in the field of urban and rural construction, and have international design collaboration capabilities.
